This soda-fired Black Rhino tumbler is hand-thrown with a high-fire stoneware. Two Black Rhinos are hand-drawn into opposite sides and highlighted with colored slips.

Rhinos worldwide are some the most heavily endangered animals on the planet. Over 40% of the proceeds of this mug will go to conservations groups that combat trafficking and help the survival of the species. See my blog entry for more specifics.

This mug is fired in a wood-fueled soda kiln. The combination of the flame, ash and soda produces flashing and a glaze of soda in unexpected ways. The glazes used are food safe and durable. Although hand-washing is recommended for handmade pottery, this mug can be washed in a dishwasher. I have microwaved all my pottery but always exercise caution when microwaving any pottery.

Measures 5” wide x 3 11/4” high.

Holds approximately 10 oz.
