This soda-fired spiral sun mug is completely hand-made with a mid-fire stoneware. Hand-thrown on a wheel, spiral suns are hand-carved on opposite sides and highlighted with colored slips.

This mug is fired in a wood-fueled soda kiln. The combination of the flame, ash and soda produces flashing and a glaze of soda in unexpected ways. The glazes used are food safe and durable. Although hand-washing is recommended for handmade pottery, this mug can be washed in a dishwasher. I have microwaved all my pottery but always exercise caution when microwaving any pottery.

Dimensions: 4 1/4” high x 4 1/2” wide x 2 7/8” opening.

Holds approximately 11-12 oz.

Makes a great gift for coffee, tea and other hot beverages. My marks are stamped on the bottom. Some surface bloating may be noticeable. This mug has been marked down in price from typical soda-fired mugs accordingly.
